Day 12 Update

Day 12 is done!!!πŸŒ₯

And guess what⁉️ Now that this ride is over....

Woah, we're half way there🎢
🎡🎢Woah, livin' on a prayer🎡

Today was a cloudy, gloomy day, but our prayers worked and the Lord held off all the rain so our favorite cyclists had one less obstacle in their way.πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ Chris rode a cool 53 miles with a total elevation of 2,080 ft. While Andy rode 87 miles with a total elevation of 4,826 ft because he took the scenic route and then rode an additional 15 miles from the route to the campsite. Honestly, he just loves being on his bicycle!🚴🏻‍♂️πŸ’¨πŸ’™πŸš΄πŸ»‍♂️πŸ’¨

Andy came across a road/bridge closure today but was able to navigate through the issue (see the pictures below). 🚧 Hopefully all three of our guys get a nice meal and some good rest this evening as they gear up for day 13!

Day 12: Looked like a high chance of rain today so we decided to get a good jump in the morning to get some dry time in. I left camp at 4:45 am. I needed to give my legs "somewhat" of a rest so I decided to take a more direct and flatter route to our next destination rather than take the bike route. I ended up with 52-1/2 miles on the day. My legs still were not healed up yet after the 2 big days of hills in Tennessee! The ride didn't go bad but my legs seemed to be a little sluggish. It did not rain for the entire ride!!! Praise the Lord!! I will take a direct route tomorrow again in order to get more rest for my legs. We are currently over 1/2 way through the trip! We did some figuring and we are ahead of the game on arriving August 25th in Cleveland. We really pushed some miles in the beginning of the trip so we are going to pull back a little on some lesser mile days!!! Thank you for support and keep those prayers comin!!! They really work!!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

We are on day 12 of the bike ride from the Gulf of Mexico to Lake Erie Cleveland 1500 miles. The past days have been a great adventure with sightseeing and the beauty of the country from Perdido Key Florida through Alabama Mississippi Kentucky.

We are camped at Moffitt Recreation which is South of Morganfield Kentucky. Chris was looking at Google Map and saw Noah are with which is 30 miles from our location and we decided to go see the ark. Pictures describe the ER that was on Google is for the Western Kentucky Youth Camp not the known are Bush's south of Cincinnati. We had a good laugh at this one. Then we decided to go to cave-in-rock which is in Illinois took the ferry across the Ohio River and had a great view of the cave and had dinner at the restaurant located at the park. This was a good rest day and will be heading out tomorrow for day 13. follow us on Simonsaysbike.Org
